Hey guys I just wanted to post a little reminder to everyone to always be respectful towards creators, events, and everyone else. Ive been seeing a lot of complaints that I just really don't agree with.
Creators in SL are people too; usually one or two, they are not a big fancy business run by hundreds of people (same goes for events). Most creators are just artists doing what they enjoy and the wonderful thing is they are able to profit from that and make a living. But it's not just easy and fun. Meshing and texturing is hard work! There have been times when I have worked countless days and hours on something just to throw it in the trash. And having run several events myself before as well I can again tell you it's not all fun and games it's a TON of work.
So when I see people complaining about "too many events" or "you're not making what I want you to make" or "Oh it only works for that body..." it's extremely disappointing and discouraging. I mean why should I make more if people are just going to complain about it right? And there are few activities on SL as it is, so why on earth would you complain about them? No one is requiring you to go to them, if there are too many don't go. Why would you want to DISCOURAGE the people who are making more for SL?
YOUR PERSONAL WANTS ARE NOT A CREATORS OR EVENTS #1 PRIORITY NOR SHOULD THEY BE.
If support doesn't respond maybe they are busy (creators have lives too ya know.), and chances are you are not the only person who needs help. While its ok to give suggestions you should never just expect to be catered to and you shouldn't bash those who are trying. Creators/Events are other people working hard to contribute to the SL community, they are not your personal slave, they do not HAVE to take your requests, and they deserve to be treated with the same respect as everyone else. Don't like it? Don't buy it, don't go. Want something in SL that no one else is making/doing? Contribute to SL yourself and do something about it, don't blame the people who are!
Being toxic never helps anything anyways!
There have been some reports of some possible copybotting of my store items. So I just want to guide you through the steps of how you can spot ripped/stolen items and report them. If you are aware an item is in fact stolen please report it to Linden Labs and notify me as well if it is my item.
When checking items please pay no mind to the creator name in the object profile. Sometimes people link items together to save attachment space and so it might not show the correct name.
If you are sure the item is mine and for some reason have suspicion that it was ripped/stolen here's how you can check and know for sure! Please read the following steps closely, you don't want to report an innocent person!
(These photos are just for example, they are not of someone who actually stole anything.)
Step 1 - Right click the suspected item and select "Object Profile".
Step 2 - Ignore all info on this window, it may not be accurate. You want to click "Details" at the bottom of the window.
Step 3 - After you click "Details" another window will pop up showing you a list. If the correct creator's name is in that list in my case DevilAii Resident or PrincessAii Resident, then the item is likely not stolen. BUT... if you are 1000% positive that the item belongs to a different creator and their name is nowhere on the list then it was probably ripped and should be reported.
How to report it
There may not be a standard way to go about reporting this type of issue. But here is how I would go about doing it.
First go to Help > Report Abuse. This will pop open a new window. Make sure you have your Object Details window open since it is proof. Type in the FALSE creators name. You want to report whoever stole the item, not necessarily the person wearing it, they might not know! The abuser name would be the person who stole it not the person wearing it.
I don't feel like Ive even been around for very long but I have enjoyed every minute. The moment I first discovered SL I couldn't be pulled away because I realized that I could turn all of my artwork, ideas, & stories into virtual reality where more than just myself could experience them. I feel so grateful that I am where I am now and that I have so many wonderful supporters and friends that encourage me everyday to keep working hard. And I still have so much left to share. I don't know where I would be without SL!
